Shatter the Source allows you to either deal 6 damage to a creature, planeswalker, or battle, or destroy an artifact. Its Convoke ability enables you to use your creatures to help pay for the cost, making it easier to cast in decks with a lot of creatures. This card fits well in aggressive red strategies that aim to clear the board or remove troublesome artifacts while maintaining pressure.
