Malakir Rebirth is an instant from Zendikar Rising that allows you to choose a target creature and pay 2 life to give it a temporary ability. Until the end of the turn, that creature gains "When this creature dies, return it to the battlefield tapped under its owner's control." This ability can be utilised to protect key creatures from removal spells, allowing them to return to the battlefield for a second chance, or to create a strategic advantage in combat. It works well in decks that focus on sacrifice mechanics or life manipulation, such as Aristocrats-style builds.
