Acridian is a 2/4 green Insect that costs {1}{G} to cast, making it relatively cheap for its size. However, it has the Echo ability, which means at the beginning of your upkeep, you must pay {1}{G} again to keep it on the battlefield; if you don't, you'll have to sacrifice it. This makes Acridian a decent early-game creature to apply pressure or defend, but you need to be prepared to pay its echo cost each turn, which can be a drawback if your mana is tight later in the game.
